HerbFest 2011 Schedule of Events

HerbFest 2011 Schedule of Events Held At Festival Park in Wake Forest, N.C. :

 (Schedule subject to change - this as of March 24)

Friday, April 15 -   Open from:   9 - 6 p.m.

Find the unusual today before they are gone!!!  Limited herbs today as growers will have 70 -100 of the more difficult to find type herbs which the Herbanites look for. Example stevia, culantro, patchouli, borage type herbs in limited supply.

10:30 - 4 pm:  

On the first 3 days of HerbFest, April 15 -17 and last 3 days, April 22-24 , Millennium Academy will have live animal exhibits on site ( see below )  for the kids to see and play with animals, reptiles and more.

Schedule of Millennium Academy Private Elementary School Bunnies at Herb Fest.   There will be an animal petting area for the children.

The kids will enjoy feeding, cuddling and taking pictures with the bunnies

Saturday, April 16-  
Open from: 9 - 6 p.m.

8 am. - 11 a.m. Weekend Garden Show : Live Remote from WPTF Radio, 680 AM, - 8 - 11 a.m. - Come on out, bring a lounge chair, stop at Wake Forest Coffee Shop and pick up a cup of Joe, on your way to enjoy Mike Raley and Ann Clapp.

10 a.m. - The Daily Duck Parade - Bring the kids and enjoy this "breathtaking" exhibit of the waddlers. Daily event. 


10:30 - 4 pm:  

Millenium Academy will have live animal exhibits on site for the kids to see and play with animals, reptiles and more.

 

 Noon - 1:30 ish - Franklin Academy Jazz Band - This is one wonderful crowd of talented musicians to perform for your enjoyment.  Has become a tradition and these young men and women do this to benefit the GJCAE.

  2 - 3:30  p.m. - Gotta DanceThe Gotta Dance Musical Theatre Company will be presenting a preview of their up and coming smash production SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER at this years Herbfest in downtown Wake Forest. The Gotta Dance Performing Arts center will also showcase jazzy numbers from PRINCESS & THE FROG. This group of high energy performers range in age from 8 to 16 and has dazzled audiences from DISNEY to DURHAM. Experience the thrill of LIVE THEATRE as the cast brings everyone to their feet. The group will also entertain fans with last years standing ovation numbers from FAME.


 

              
Sunday, April 17 -  Open from:  10 - 4 p.m.

 *   During the week we have children from local schools often visiting for an introduction to the Herbfest.  You are certainly welcome to listen in and enjoy with the kids.  Visits generally occur in the mornings starting around 9 a.m. and continuing till Noon. 


Monday, April 18 -  Open from:  10 - 6 p.m.

Tuesday, April 19- Open from:  10 - 6 p.m.

Wednesday, April 20 - Open from:  10 - 6 p.m.

Thursday, April 21 - Open from:  10 - 6 p.m.

Friday, April 22 - Open from:  9 - 6 p.m.


Saturday, April 23 - Open from:  9 - 6 p.m.

 

10:30 - 4 pm:

2 - 3:00 ish - Graffiti Monkey will be performing on main stage.   One of our better local bands you will thoroughly enjoy. 


Sunday, April 24 - Open from:  10 - 4 p.m.

   The Easter Bunny Live and In Person from 1-3 p.m. so bring the kids.

   Arielle Bryant will entertain from 1 - 3:30 p.m. on the main stage with her recent recordings - Free event, no admission charge.

One of largest selections of herb plants for sale in U.S., Organically grown from organic seed veggies, tomatoes, peppers, cantaloupes, watermelon & more - Master Gardeners also on hand for questions about your garden/lawn.


Duck Parade  Each Day at 10:30 a.m.  ( Kids love this and often so do the adults!) - This is sometimes not completed due to the ducks not coming to eat their corn each morning which prevents capture.  When this happens we attempt to bring in geese, peacocks, guineas or other birds - Sorry but some of this beyond our control!!! :)

Bring Lawn chair, blanket to enjoy  free performances and festivities during day

HerbFest has food vendors and other Lifestyle vendors

Proceeds benefit the Graham Johnson Cultural Arts Endowment ( GJCAE)
