Collectively the HerbFest is in it's 20th+ year, with 11 consecutive years ( took a 5 year hiatus expanding the family ) (:) . HerbFest is the major fund raiser for the Graham Johnson Cultural Arts Endowment which provides opportunities for cultural arts programming, training and entertainment for young and old throughout the year, a 501 (c) (3) foundation.
Worth the Trip From Anywhere
HerbFest is generally recognized as the largest herb and perennial festival East of the Mississippi providing the largest quantity and diversity of herbs found anywhere. It occurs yearly after the last frost date of the year on the first Friday following. Many folks paln their vacations around our herbal festival. Wake Forest, NC is a wonderful place to visit and we will keep you entertained and educated all week long! The first of many "Festival Fridays" - Blue's Night - occurs on Friday, April 24th.Learn From the Herb Experts
Each year the educational classes are expanded and our faculty are leading experts in their fields. The festival is about improving one's lifestyle to enjoy the comforts of home, natural organic herbs and vegetables, low maintenance perennials and labor saving tips to enjoy one's surroundings, family, and friends. Our Herbfest craft and food vendors are selected based upon their products connectivity to the HerbFest lifestyle theme.Master Gardener Volunteers from the Wake County Extension service will be available all 10 days of the HerbFest to answer your gardening questions. Master Gardeners have expertise in fruits, vegetables, perennials, annuals, trees, shrubs, turf management and conservation.
