Bonne Herbs In Egg Recipe

    The local herbs of France find themselves being used not only for flavoring, but also for eye and aromatic appeal.   The herb blend is referred to as "bonnes herbes" and often is added to a plate for color, and sometimes to the food for flavor.  Here is some more information about how the French use the herb blend.

    This Parisian mélange is neglected as a seasoning in the United States. A delightful French herb mix of the summer, mostly annual herbs, bonnes herbes (bohn āirbs) is often used as a fresh garnish or added shortly before serving. It is prepared with equal proportions of the herbs, but you can adjust it to suit your taste.

Recipe For Herbs De Provence Blend

    The beautiful aspect of French Provencal cooking is the use of local natural ingredients, and hardly ever any sauces, unlike many French cooking styles.   Rather than use sauces to mask over the natural flavors Provencial cooking accentuates the natural flavors.  Provence is known for the varied flavors of the many varities of vegetable and herbs used in cooking.   Slow, or "pot cooking", allowing the ingredients to meld together are crucial to the finer aspects of blended, infused flavors Provence is known for.

Italian Herb Blend Recipe

     It's the spices and herbs that make the Italian meals so desirable.   The Italian herbs are referred to as the "Mediterranean herbs" known for their ability to survive hot summers, wind and generally sandy soil.   The below combination of ingredients consists solely of oregano, basil and marjoram however remember you can blend other Mediterranean herbs such as bay, rosemary and thyme to create that authenic Italian blend. 

   If you are cooking chicken nothing like a fresh bay leaf between the skin and meat, placed down on baking dish and sprinkled with your fresh Italian herb seasoning.   Hope you enjoy the blend and be sure to add and subtract according to your palate.

Fine Herbs Recipe

   Fine Herbs combinations are very generic to an area and the type foods the local populus enjoy.   The reason there is no set recipe is the combination of herbs varies depending on the season.   The local climate may be beneficial for cool weather herbs in the early spring and late fall, whereas in the heat of summer most of those same herbs have gone to seed so the herb is gone.   New local produce may be coming into season,  such as tomatoes in the heat of summer,  and due to the popularity of the local produce other herbs that are hot weather herbs are used as they accentuate the local produce.   The smart cook learns to combine different herbs for different "Fines herbes" blends to match the meal, not the season.
