French Fries Seasoned With Herbs - Basil, Dill, Oregano

 
  My youngest goes to the N.C. State Fair and comes back raving over her "Krisby Kreme Fried Doughnut Hamburger with Bacon & Cheese".  What did I do wrong, where did I lose it?????

 
   Now this is a young lady that has heard me tell the story Graham Kerr, Galloping Gourmet, describing the air evacuation of his wife from Hawaii to Stateside due to heart issues.  He couldn't understand how here he was informing the world about eating healthy and yet his wife was in danger due to some problems caused by diet.   Her answer to him ( she survived):  "but your food doesn't taste good".  True story told by Mr. Kerr at an International Herb Assoc. meeting in Seattle.
 
   Well my daughter will be spared.  Try this for different, yet healthy idea:

 
HERB FRENCH FRIES  
1 (16 oz.) pkg. frozen French fries
Vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp. dried whole basil (crushed)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. paprika
Fry potatoes in vegetable oil according to package directions, drain well. Add seasonings to potatoes and toss well to coat. Serve immediately. Yield: 4 to 6 servings.

  This recipe for herb seasoned french fries does not have to be basil in another article from Univ. of Georgia we were shown the benefits of dried oregano as an antioxidant and free radical inhibitor.  Might want to use oregano and basil, or for some who like dill this could be a very delightful addition.  If you have fresh basil or dill use that also.
