HerbFest 2009 Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet
HerbFest 2009 (www.herbfest.net) will be a 10 day festival of herbs, perennials, educational events, vendor displays and entertainment. It will be held from Friday, April 17 to Sunday April 26, 2009 at Festival Park, 527 S. White Street, in downtown Wake Forest.
The proceeds from HerbFest benefit the Graham Johnson Cultural Arts Endowment (www.gjae.org)
Volunteers are needed for the following jobs:
Cashiers – (Must be a high school student)
Greet Customers in a courteous manner
Be familiar with the pricing of plants, herbs and perennials
Total up purchases using calculator
Accept cash, Make change
Accept checks, making sure all information is filled in and correct
Process credit card purchases
Notify other volunteers if customer needs assistance carrying plants to vehicle
Counters – (Must be a high school student)
Greet customers in a courteous manner as they approach check out
Itemize plant purchases on sales check.
Double check herb plant pot sizes and prices using job aid to make sure the correct price is charged.
List perennial prices on sales check using price sticker in pot. If sticker is missing, notify Mr. or Mrs. Johnson or Kathryn Spiegel for price information.
Sales Associates – (7th Grade and up)
Greet customers, offer assistance
Restock plants from under tables, keep flats full
Keep aisles clear of trip hazards
Assist customers with loading purchases in their vehicles
Check restrooms, restock as necessary, empty trash
Manage holding area for customers’ plants
Plant Unloading /Set up-- (Must be a high school student)
Unload flats of herbs from truck
Unload perennials from truck
Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds
Pricing of plants
Setting up tents
Putting up signage
Breakdown/Cleanup (7th grade and up)
Move flats of leftover plants to consolidate
Breakdown tables and chairs and stack
Pick up trash
Breakdown tents and put away
Take down signage and put away
Clean up volunteer room
